We’re thrilled to welcome a new cohort of brilliant post-doctoral researchers to our team here at the TRANSECTS project! As we continue to grow and explore new frontiers in energy transitions, these talented individuals bring fresh perspectives, expertise, and energy to our community.

Dr. Amy McCarron
- Dr. Sofie Thoft Illemann Jaeger: Sofie has a background in arts and cultural management, the history of science, and public climate engagement and she will be focusing on the historical, societal and cultural aspects of energy transitions and how they transform the sustainability and resilience of coastal communities.
- Dr. Jack Sheehy: Jack takes an eco-social-economics approach to marine conservation and planning and will be using this approach to explore the natural capital evaluation aspect of the TRANSECTS project to assess the stocks and flows of the different marine energy sources we are exploring in this project.
- Dr. Amy McCarron: Amy comes to TRANSECTS with expertise in environmental geography, social science and environmental health and she will be examining the fairness and equity of energy transition decision-making as well as the social and economic impacts on place.
What They’ll Be Working On
Our new post-docs will be contributing to a range of exciting aspects of the TRANSECTS project, from the rapid evidence appraisal relating to Just Transition to development of our ‘Energy Atlas’. Their work will not only advance our research goals but also enrich our collaborative environment.
